Hi I received a parking ticket from linkparking 10/04/21
On the day in question I was picking up a wardrobe which I bought off of a Facebook group. The guy I was picking the wardrobe up from told me to park outside of the building with my hazard lights on and come up to get the wardrobe I went up and loaded the 25 separate pieces into the lift and began to load my car on one of the trips I was given a ticket. The parking attendant must’ve seen me loading waited for me to go inside and quickly wrote the ticket and ran off. I have photo evidence of the car being loaded and text exchanges between myself and the guy to prove. I have appealed with all this info and been rejected not sure what I can do as I’m a few days late in my appeal stage? |

Yes you do know how to write it. You try, and post the draft, and we help. Doing nothing was a bad idea.
Paying someone is a bad idea, as only if the claimant behaves like a dick will you see a penny if that money back. |

Oh hush. It's not scary. If you lose, and you've had months to set aside money and have months yet to go,as long as you PAY IN FULL no ccj stays in your record. None. It's just most likely a video hearing, or in person in a fairly standard room. No dock etc.
Your chances are pretty good, but we obv cannot make ANY g'tees. No one can. But, you actually HAVE TO DO SOME WORK. It will not take 5 min to do 5his. It's ten hours or so, to write a defence (MSE forum, newbies thread, post two and template defenc. Illl keep repeating until yiu say you've read them) which is fairly easy, write a witness statement - easy, it's just a list of facts - and compiling evidence eg recipes for purchase, maybe pictures of the item etc. pretty easy. Understanding it might take a little time. But get in. Now is NOT the time to waste time. |

I can understand it will seem daunting if you've never been before, but civil court is not as scary as you'd think - the worst outcome is that you will have to pay the amount listed on the claim form, so in that respect, the worst outcome from going to court is no worse than the alternative choice which would be to pay up now. The best outcome is that you will have to pay nothing. By the time you get to the actual court, most of the work will have already been done, in filing your defence and witness statement(s) etc. In addition, judges are often aware that a litigant in person is unlikely to be intimately familiar with attending court.
There are no guarantees, but a genuine defence of loading is certainly a stronger defence than many people go into hearings with. Have a look at the information HERE to give you an idea of the process that will follow and how things work. There is also a template defence that can help you with some of the 'standard' points as well as help you set out your defence in the right format. There will also be examples there and on here of other 'loading' based defences. -------------------- Useful Links (for private parking charges):
