Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I parked in a 1 hour red route box thinking I was allowed to because I didn't understand the sign and got a PCN but every time I log on and try and make a payment it comes up with ''No matches has been found against our records. Please check the details entered and try again'' its been like this since the 8/5/2018 I have also given them a call and they gave me a reference number.

I have attached the pcn for you guys to look at. What do you think I can do? Is there any grounds I can appeal or will it get cancelled?

What does the sign say and why did you get the ticket?

TFL often mess up the windscreen served PCNs as not being on their system. What did they say when you called them?

Hi thanks for the reply. This was the sign that I saw I now understand it but at the time I thought as I was parking 5.27pm that it was out side the 10am-4pm so i could park but I was wrong. I actual saw the attendant and explained it to him before he could put it on my windscreen and he just gave it to me by hand. He explained that he can see that I didn't understand the sign and I should just write and appeal but as I work from 8am to 9pm I just wanted to pay at the time. But now im think if there is any way out I wouldn't mind perusing that avenue.

The PCN is duff for a few reasons, but if you arrived at 5.27 and were having trouble understanding the sign you must be allowed time to read the sign

Look at GSV and then the photos, you can see the sign is still orientated away from a drivers view so you would have to stop to read it. That the CEO handed you the PCN lends weight to your claim of just arriving

Think you're bang to rights here - if you want to pay try the telephone payment line. If they can't locate the PCN number then you have good grounds for appeal.
But don't pay if they want £130, only £65.

Thanks Stamfordman, Do you think there are any other grounds that may also use?

Not sure - wait for others as they seem to think there's something wrong probably with the statutory wording and/or the contravention stated.

Can someone explain to me why my PCN is believed to be duff? or is it because it is not being recognised on there system.

having read the PCN fully I would not recommend a challenge on its validity. where it might be said it does not give a time of contravention, i think an adjudicator would accept the time stated as compliant You parked in contravention, not fall into contravention at the end of allowed time

thy and pay. get a screenshot if it will not let you . Carefully check all the details are correct. If it will let you only pay at the discount if the full penalty is required come back here.

did you try the phone call as suggested by Stamfordman?

Yep I agave them a call and they side there may be a problem with the attendants machine and it hasn't been put on the system yet. They also said there has been cases where it's been a month before the details where uploaded.

They gave me a reference number to use if it comes on live and it is not on the discounted amount within the 14 days
