Around 4.00am this morning, I think I was flashed on the M25 near Junction 18, but the variable speed limit wasn't on and I was going under 70mph. Is it possible the camera could be faulty or could it have been a flash from the other side of the motorway as I glanced in my side mirror and saw the variable speed limit was on the other side. The only thing is it was a pretty big flash, but I can't understand why it went off if it was me.

Not a lot we can say unless a NIP arrives. That is within 2 weeks to the registered keeper.

QUOTE but the variable speed limit wasn't on and I was going under 70mph..... If above is true, why even think it was you ? Chances are it was on other side, flashes can look quite bright in the dark at 4am. |

That was my initial thought, but I wasn't sure if a flash in the other direction would be bright enough for me to see it as I was passing under the gantry. |

Depends on ambient light and relative positions but IMO far more likely then you being flashed when under the limit. I've seen them on other side on a lit motorway lighting up whole road for a split second. Put it out of your mind, if something appears post up in the speeding forum, given what you have said should be sortable. |

It's not clear why this happens but it happens. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php
