NIP Details and Circumstances
What is the name of the Constabulary? - Date of the offence: - March 2019 Date of the NIP: - 18 days after the offence Date you received the NIP: - 19 days after the offence Location of offence (exact location as it appears on the NIP: important): - A5119, Flint, FFlintshire Was the NIP addressed to you? - Yes Was the NIP sent by first class post, second class or recorded delivery? - First If your are not the Registered Keeper, what is your relationship to the vehicle? - Vehicle is a company leased car How many current points do you have? - 0 Provide a description of events (if you know what happened) telling us as much about the incident as possible - some things that may seem trivial to you may be important, so don't leave anything out. Please do not post personal details for obvious reasons - I am totally unsure what happened as at the time on the NIP states 13:57. I should have been on my construction site completing the clients snagging items. Although my director arrived on site that morning and told me that due to the lack of contracts they had i was being made redundant. IF i did commit the alleged offence, can i challenge it because i was not contacted by the police within the 14 days but was phoned by the lease company on the 12th April 19 which would be the 14th day after the alleged offence. The NIP is dated the 16th April 19 and i received the notice on the 17th April 19. the alleged offence is dated 29th March 19? NIP Wizard Responses These were the responses used by the Wizard to arrive at its recommendation: Have you received a NIP? - Yes Are you the Registered Keeper of the vehicle concerned (is your name and address on the V5/V5C)? - No Is the NIP addressed to you personally? - Yes Although you are not the Registered Keeper, were you the keeper of the vehicle concerned (the person normally responsible for it) at the time of the alleged offence? - Yes Were you driving? - Yes Which country did the alleged offence take place in? - Wales NIP Wizard Recommendation Based on these responses the Wizard suggested that this course of action should be considered:

IF i did commit the alleged offence, can i challenge it because i was not contacted by the police within the 14 days but was phoned by the lease company on the 12th April 19 which would be the 14th day after the alleged offence. The NIP is dated the 16th April 19 and i received the notice on the 17th April 19. the alleged offence is dated 29th March 19? Only the 1st NIP has the 14 day requirement. This seems to have been met. QUOTE I am totally unsure what happened as at the time on the NIP states 13:57. I should have been on my construction site completing the clients snagging items. Although my director arrived on site that morning and told me that due to the lack of contracts they had i was being made redundant. Only you know whether you stayed on the site after receiving that very unwelcome news, or departed. If you left, would you have been where the offence is alleged to have occurred? You have not said what the alleged offence is, but if it is speeding or a red light offence captured by a camera, ask for a copy of any available photograph to aid identification of the driver. That does not stop the clock running on the 28 days you have to respond. -------------------- |

No. You ask for photo’s to assist in the driver identification.
However, you are not entitled to anything at this stage but they will often oblige. This post has been edited by Jlc: Fri, 26 Apr 2019 - 06:40 -------------------- RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver
