We have recently had a 20 mph limit put in place by the local council for most of the town. Apart from the limit being implemented poorly, i.e. the signs going up on different days for different directions over a couple of weeks, most of the signs are just printed plastic and non reflective, fastened to lamp posts with cable ties.. They do appear to have the correct number of signs with repeaters. As they stand, would the limit be enforceable?
(The local police, have stated today, for the time being they won't enforce the limit except in the existing school 20mph zones when the lights are flashing.) |

I understand the logic of 20 MPH limits around schools ................. I can't, at least not the way that they have been installed near to me. 20mph zones with speed bumps, permanent restriction to protect local schools, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When the only time the roads get busy is during school run and you can't do 10 let alone 20mph. This post has been edited by DancingDad: Wed, 9 Dec 2020 - 16:43 |

And I've seen that spreadsheet before and I'd like to think that's a rather complete list. So would I, it's taken years to make it. I've been making slow progress in populating my version of the spreadsheet, work got in the way with the run up to Christmas. I'll hopefully have most of the list populated by the end of the year however I can't help but feel that it'll be an uphill struggle to use this to keep informed of any consultations, considering how little standardisation there is. Can we just pull an XML feed or something so it's automated? -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

That's my plan - I've been going through looking to see if there's a feed that we can use
Most of the newer builds do have a feed, most of the older builds will have to be screen-scraped. It's unfortunate that the older builds tend to be old enough to not use web technologies like AJAX to improve user experience, but are young enough to have shunned stuff like RSS feeds. |
