This is the latest school street scheme in Hackney - but it's on a busy road and also a bit further east they've put in a bus gate, which operates 7-10 am and 3-7 pm Mon-Sat eastbound (why these times??). It went live yesterday but hopefully no live fines will be issued yet; however I'm expecting to see a lot of PCNs for us soon.

So the only way out for residents in the bottom left hand corner is through Broadway Market ?

Depends on whether the bus gate is one or two way, looking at it I’d expect it to be one way only.

The bus gate is only eastbound towards the school according to council newsletter. Residents in the areas get exemptions. I drove up Broadway Market this morning after dropping kids off at another school and wasn't sure about the bus gate so turned around and went back but presumably was OK to go west.
