Hi guys it is alleged that I failed to stop or report an incident. I am due in court and the police have been to the door to charge me with it. I wonder what my options might be.

Plead guilty or not guilty!

If you new an impact had happened you should have reported it regardless of any damage, if you were aware of any damage then doubly so.

From what you say you thought the damage was minor enough to not matter, in which case you would be best served by pleading guilty (I may have misinterpreted what you have/haven’t put).

If you plead not guilty and lose then you lose the 1/3 discount off the fine and will be looking at prosecution costs of circa £620 (more than the fine will be).

You would have been given 3 charges or may very well receive another 2.

Failing to report an accident within 24 hours.

Leaving the scene of the accident

Driving without due care and attention
