Hi all,
A bit puzzled by this PCN that I received yesterday while parked at Amersham station. I arrived at 08:41, and paid via RingGo at 08:42, for one day's parking. I have a valid receipt that I received via email. I returned at the end of the day to find a PCN fine stuck to my windscreen. It was issued at 08:46, and states I was parked in a car park w/o clearly displaying a valid pay * display ticket or voucher or parking clock (code 83). I'm puzzled, as stated, as I park there quite often and have never had this happen. Further up on the ticket it states that I was observed between 08:42 - 08:46, and the office "had reason to believe" that the above contravention occurred. Do they not have any means of checking when the parking is paid for? Really bloody annoying, as I park there quite often (as a matter of fact, the day before as well at the same time) and I've never had this happen to me. What is the best way of approaching this? |

Upload the PCN (all sides in full) to a site like imgur.com and post links on here. Also give us a link to the location on Google Street View.

If the VRM is correct--this can only be a time lag incident. If there is a delay in the information coming from the PBP agent and it doesn't show up on the CEO's computer this type of situation occurs.
With the timings you have given it appears as if you had a "lurking" CEO who was very quick off the mark. I would take a screen-shot from your phone and send it with your reps to the Council. Those reps should state that you are allowed a fair bit of time to enter a PBP transaction and this hasn't happened. Mick |

Wow - thanks for the quick replies.
The carpark is located here: https://www.google.co.uk/maps?q=amersham+mu...Ru9CZgQ_AUICigB ... and here is the PCN: https://imgur.com/a/HwUzTrT and here: https://imgur.com/a/lSrRJhD I didn't see the agent, the only people present were some puzzled motorists who couldn't seem to work the pay machine. thanks! |

The only other mistake which could have occurred is that the wrong location code was input when parking was purchased; but I doubt that, if you are a regular user of this car park.

Good idea, I thought of that as well, but it is certainly the same on the receipt - Amersham Multi Storey 9020.
These parasites really irk me, I've had run-ins with them in the past in Wycombe. While assisting a handicapped relative into a hotel I was ticketed by a sneaky SOB, in spite of having permission of the hotel to park in their passenger drop off zone (max 10 minutes, I was there for 5). Awful that they're allowed to continue conning people. I wasn't sure if I should dispute it via their website or use a different approach. |

As Mick says, time lag on their system being updated.
Challenge and include a copy of the payment receipt. |

OP, you've posted everything except that which proves your case i.e. the confirming email.
And where were you when you contacted RingGo, the car park by your car or had you left? |

Didn't include the PDF receipt, as it has my company info etc.. but it has following info:
Amersham Multi Story (9020) ... Session Duration: 26/05/2018 08:42 AM - 29/05/2018 4:12 PM 3 days 7 hours 30 minutes I contacted RingGo as soon as I parked the car. The session was confirmed/paid for before I even left the carpark. |

So paid 3 minutes before the PCN was issued, should be an easy appeal!

Hi all - PCN dismissed due to uploading error, as you had suggested. Thanks for the advice!
