Received something called a "letter of claim" from a company called DCB legal Ltd on behalf of "vehicle control services Ltd"

This is claiming £160 because of the usual fees et cetera.

It doesn't say notice before claim it just says letter of claim... strangely exactly the same letter was sent in September 2016 by another company called BW legal For £154. so either one has overtaken the other or the "debt" has been sold on.

so it's now been more than three years since the alleged bit of parking.

shall I continue to ignore until actual court date is set or shall I do something else?

Once again thanks for all the support

Both will be working as agents for VCS, no buying and selling.

It claims to follow PAP for debt claims but then actually doesn't! (No reply form etc. - unless there's more?)

Thanks very much for your reply, actually there was-but it seemed just standard "here are your options" type stuff..

It's likely to be more helpful than not posting it.

I suppose my question is, am I waiting for them to take me to court and then contesting it knowing they won't turn up

or is this something else I'm missing?

How do you know they won't turn up? They usually do.

ALWAYS reply to an LBA, to not do so is unreasonable and can see costs awarded against a defendant even if they win.

Fill in the relevant parts of the form ONLY (no need for financials, they are only relevant if you want time to pay), and also a short summary of why you owe nothing. (or pay of course, not recommended).

Another issue is that its in completely the wrong name, although this does match the registered keeper... there was a mistake at the DVLA and now letters come through to the wrong person.../
