Hi Guys
I was doing 73 in 60 mph on smart motorway, M62 West Yorkshire area, as far as I can see online I should be eligible for speed awareness course - is this correct? From memory I last did speed awareness course around feb-april 2015 but I really cannot remember exact dates or even the month Will I be able to phone them up and get the date I last did the course? Slightly off topic but A friend told me if you have points on your licence, which are under 3 years old, you will not be offered the course.... but again as far as I can read online I can't see this. Previous or current points have no bearing. Name the driver and they’ll make the appropriate offers.
-------------------- RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver
PoFA=Protection of Freedoms Act, SAC=Safety Awareness Course, NIP=Notice of Intended Prosecution, ADR=Alternative Dispute Resolution PPC=Private Parking Company, LBCCC=Letter Before County Court Claim, PII=Personally Identifiable Information, SAR=Subject Access Request Private Parking - remember, they just want your money and will say almost anything to get it. |

It’s 3 years from date of previous offence, so your course timing suggests a 2014 offence so you should be fine.
As noted, the qualifying criteria is speed and no course in the last 3 years (offence to offence), there is no other criteria used for camera detected offences. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

The Motorway SACs haven't been running 3 years so as the last course you took would have been a standard SAC, the timing is irrelevant as you'll be offered a NMSAC for this one as it's a variable speed motorway offence. You can have as many courses as exist as long as each same course is not repeated within 3 years, offence date to offence date.

Yes, as above, now they've split the courses into more and more differing types, the three year limitation is only for each type, not doing any course per se.
