Hello,

I got a PCN yesterday for parking into a suspended bay in my road. The parking was suspended in in front of house number 127 129 131.
My car is parked mostly in front of 125 and 1.5m in front of 127.

The suspended parking sign was attached to a tree between house number 131 and 133.
There is a "resident parking permit only" sign just between houses 121 and 123 but no notification of the suspension there.

I did not see the parking suspension attached to the tree (it was dark and the tree is ~ 13 meters away from the front of my car) but I would have seen a parking restriction sign attached to "resident parking permit only" sign (only 5 meters away from the back of my car).

Do you think I have grounds to appeal the PCN on the basis the suspension notification was not attached to the nearest parking sign pole?
from: https://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/parking/parki...d-parking-bays/

The regulations require that the suspension warning sign should be placed in or adjacent to the suspended area and this is usually done by displaying a sign on the nearest post or lighting column to the suspended area bearing a parking sign (providing such a post is available). This applies even if a telegraph pole, fence or tree may be closer, although these alternatives may be used if there is no other option.

any advice appreciated...
Thanks

From what you say you have decent grounds to challenge this: There was a parking sign 5 metres from your car and you were entitled to rely on it. However, give us a link to the location on Google Street View so we can have a look around.

sorry, somehow I missed the previous reply.

I finally received the outcome of my informal appeal and the PCN was canceled.
The council accepted the suspension should have been attached to the closest parking sign pole or lamp post, which was not the case.
