Hi all,

Been away from PPP for a while but this section 172 NIP brings me back sharpish. Hope you are all well.

Travelling Eastbound M62 Junc 11-12 temp 50mph zone with average speed cameras. NIP served in time (offence 19/5/20, NIP dated 22/5/20) - clocked at 60mph.

No points on licence - first speeding offence in 30 odd years. I believe it's within the guidelines to be offered a course?

Quick question. Is there any point in posting the NIP for all to see or is it simply a case of ..............................."suck it up buttercup"?

Thanks

The NIP has to inform you of the nature of the offence and the time and place where it is alleged to have been committed. If it does that and was served in time then there's nothing to dispute. That speed should attract a course. Many areas are running online versions.

NIP in 3 days? That's pretty quick. Sounds like a course is the way to go, so will likely keep the no points!

Thanks New Judge.

Then I'll take that as a very polite "suck it up buttercup". Thanks. That's cleared it up for me then.

Well, Nip was dated 3 days after the offence but since hanging around on PPP I've learnt that it's served 2 days after posting is it not? I have no idea if it was delivered this morning or a few days ago to be honest. I'm lucky to open anything addressed to me in in this house lately. The wife does that much internet shopping that she seems to think that everything that drops through the letterbox must be for her anyway!

No, it’s served when it’s served, which is presumed to be 2 working days after posting - unless you can prove otherwise (which it seems you can’t).

Well it was clearly served within 14 days of the offence anyway!
