As per attached PCN I was nicked on my motorbike in a Bus Lane in Bloomsbury St WC1 on 6 July. Thoughts as to reasons to challenge:
1. The PCN is dated 13 July (a Friday). It arrived through my door on Tuesday 17 July in an "advanced first class mail" envelope. If really posted on date of issue it should have arrived on Saturday or Monday. 2. No London Councils Standard offence code used (should be 31) 3. The PCN does not state whether the "approved device" was attended or unattended (not sure if this is a requirement). 4. The procedure for making an informal challenge does not specify whether the 14 days runs from date of notice or deemed date of service. I have been on line to view the evidence. Looking at the four pictures reproduced on the PCN: - top left shows me entering bus lane at 12:52:47 - bottom left at 52:50 shows me just at edge of lane as per letters "BU" on road surface - bottom right one second later could have been taken anywhere and doesn't prove anything - top right at 52:58 shows me in the right hand lane where right turn vehicles are permitted as per arrow on road surface There is a further picture on the Camden website which is not shown on PCN which shows me entering the road to the right at 12:53:00 I have tried to view the video evidence without success in both IE and Chrome. I get a message saying my browser is not compatible. If anyone would like to PM me I will give PCN number and reg. no. Absent the video evidence, I was in the bus lane for as little as three seconds and a maximum of eight. Distance covered from entering lane to turning right looks like about 20 yards. Sufficient for de minimis? Here's the GSV link https://www.google.com/maps/@51.517624,-0.1...e0?source=apiv3 Although the bus lane signs are clear (no motorbikes permitted) I am afraid I was looking at the traffic, gaps etc and suffered from the infuriating phenomenon of some bus lanes in London allowing motorbikes and others not. Grounds for challenge? An initial informal challenge is a no-brainer as the discount is held pending reply. -------------------- Chaseman

I would pay the discount while you can.
