Hi,

I had a fine, which i missed payment on - received Marsten letter, with additional cost of £75. I called original court number, and paid the remainder fine.

Will i have to pay Marsten £75.

They have not visited me, only sent the letter,

Are you sure it's a court fine, I wasn't aware Marston's chased up court fines.

What was the fine for?

Was it the PENATLY charge Notice from Blackburn?

Yes it was for a speeding fine, that i had to attend court for not giving driver details. I got the fine at court.

Show us the letter, it will say what regulations Marsten rely on to add their fee.

Off topic, but why didn't you defend it?

here is the letter the front and the back.

They told me i have until tomorrow or it will be assigned to an agent. Because they need the court to tell them i have paid that amount. So they said i should set up a payment plan until they got the confirmation. If i do tht, i have agreed to pay there £75

Interesting that they include locksmith charges, I didn't know bailiffs could enter premises unless you let them in.

It's a proforma so may apply where they can.

Back to the original Q, chase HMCTS and ask them to confirm enforcement action has been stopped.

I paid with my credit card, on my transactions it says pending. ( possibly because it takes some time to go through), but this will mean HMCTS will not have received payment yet.
In this case what if the payment doesnt go through by today.
Mastons say, that they will assign an agnt to it, adding another £235 to the bill. Or i can set up a payment plan to stall action - but in this scenario i would imagine they will for sure chase that £75

I believe they can if enforcing a fine from the court: https://bailiffadviceonline.co.uk/index-pag...nd-forced-entry

i have just set up a payment plan, as did not want more charges on the account.

However find it crazy that this company can add £75 legally given the current climate.... and the courts endorse this behaviour. its crazy. This type of charges are criminal.

Welcome to the real world.

The “current climate” means that the company’s costs are higher, so if anything their charges should go up!

To be honest it's quite nice of them to even consider that option. If the police enforce a court fine and are not allowed in, they just use the big red key to get past the door, and you're then left with a smashed door.
