Had been looking forward to coverage of the flypast today to celebrate the RAF centenary
Gave up when only a handful of helicopters and a Dakota had gone past Did the producer seriously think that the Royal family on the balcony was of such interest that it had to be shown every few seconds ? |

Never understood the point of a flypast. About a dozen flew over us in rural shire. Other than shedloads of noise it doesn't do much for me.
Now a drive past of some decent cars and bikes. That would be more exciting. |

Not sure that an annoying news article producer is sensible grounds to become a republican! I accept there may well be good grounds for it, that isn't one of them though, if it was a president there they would likely have done the same and then you'd be back to being a royalist! -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

A Spitfire and Hurricane flew over the house on Sunday, The noise of the engines OMG it was superb.
That's what I call a fly past. |

We had the Dakota this weekend.
Still remember seeing all three of the original BoBMF together when I was about 18, awesome! The Dakota is a lot cheaper and easier to keep airworthy of course which is why its the one seen most often. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

A Spitfire and Hurricane flew over the house on Sunday, The noise of the engines OMG it was superb. That's what I call a fly past. Not a RAF plane but if only Concord(e) were still flying. When I was a lad the test flights overflew us at supersonic speed & the spectacular double boom was very distinctive. Bloody loud too. No wonder they only flew supersonic over the sea. -------------------- British Parking Association Ltd Code of Practice(Appendix C contains Schedule 4 of POFA 2012 ) & can be found here http://www.britishparking.co.uk/Code-of-Pr...ance-monitoring

They did a fly past for something in Nottingham a few years back.
I knew nothing about it, minding my own business reading pepipoo (maybe) and it scared the bejesus out of me, pretty bloomin loud I can tell you! |

I am currently listening to, and watching if I run outside fast enough, a spitfire doing circuits around our local airfield. He's been at it for about an hour now. Rumour on social media says they're filming some footage for RAF 100.
