I will include the footage I have requested once it arrives but for now....
There are a couple of appeals on this site where people have had their rear wheels in a YBJ and it seems the most likely grounds on which to appeal are on de minimis or for mis-stating the representations period. I'd love to hear your thoughts, and if it's a similar situation to this http://forums.pepipoo.com/lofiversion/index.php/t85524.html I'd be eternally grateful if you wouldn't mind tweaking the official challenge letter to fit my case. Many many thanks in advance! This post has been edited by bobkat: Fri, 4 Jan 2019 - 23:58 |

and dates - not sure why you've blanked these and the location. Doesn't help us at all.
but looks like the infamous Homerton fire station. unlikely to succeed here I'm afraid. This post has been edited by stamfordman: Sat, 5 Jan 2019 - 11:27 |

Call TFL and ask for the video. They will send you a DVD in the post, and the penalty will be put on hold while you wait.

Bit tricky - don't suppose you have any suggestions aside form "should use Windows" do you? Nobody should use windows, for anything, ever. Linux or Mac is fine, but your problem is hardware not software. Either ask someone who has a DVD drive, or you'll need to post it to someone on here. Stamfordman and I seem to be the video facilitation people so I suppose you could PM one of us. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

Put in your DVD player and use your phone to film TV. (only if you have a DVD player of course)

Put in your DVD player and use your phone to film TV. (only if you have a DVD player of course) Tried that but doesn't run, think it must be some kind of prehistoric CD Rom. I called TFL and they suggested booking an appointment to visit one of their offices to view the clip (madness) - can't believe they'd offer these two options ahead of just digitising and emailing it. You'll have to post it to one of us or phone a friend. Really? You'd be happy to review and share if I send it to you? |

Am in Dalston - if you want to drop it off to me no problem. PM me and i'll give you address.
Don't hold out too much hope on this one though - would have to be very 'de minimis' (trivial contravention) or some other factor - we had a win here involving a cyclist I seem to recall. |

OP dropped off DVD to me. I've posted the full video on Youtube - it's a good overview of this notorious yellow box (or two boxes). Sorry it's a bit jerky - that's how it is on the DVD.
OP I think is about 2 mins 30 secs. It's a bit harsh but probably just a bit too much for de minimis? At end of video the box is jammed with two vehicles. The second box with buses and other vehicles pulling out in my view makes the fire station one rather unfair. https://youtu.be/k3QirUafNiI This post has been edited by stamfordman: Fri, 18 Jan 2019 - 13:41 |

When I look a box junction contraventions, I always think what would a copper do. I IMO it is more likely that they would ignore then to my mind so should the council. But they don't coz the get the money.
De minimis non curat lex ( the law does not concern its self with trifles) is not just a matter of how long, but can also be how much of the vehicle is in contravention I would fight and risk paying the full penalty on principle but its no better than 50/50 IMO and its your money -------------------- All advice is given freely. It is given without guarantee and responsibility for its use rests with the user

Uh *reaches for wallet*
Thanks for all your help, I don't really fancy getting slapped with £130 so going to bend over for the pleasure of a 50% discount. See you next time x |
