Can you help please ?
Got sent a PCN from CPM stating Location only as 'Station Approach' . No postcode, no town, no number, no other qualification of the location of supposed offence. i've appealed to CPM -rejected of course - and have read that it's pointless going to the next level of appeal - iAS . But CPM have repeated the offer of a reduced fee of £60 rather than £100 if paid by 19th Oct. ( is that a sign of weakness on their part ?). if i ignore and get taken to court what are my chances of defence on that basis alone ? Or just take the offer and pay up now ? Want to fight but not if it's pointless.. |

Offering (or re-offering) a discounted amount is not unusual - I wouldn't necessarily see it as a weakness.
Are they claiming keeper liability? (Presuming the driver is not known) That locus is vague and fails to be 'relevant land' imho. They are extremely litigious so a claim is very likely. Without knowing the underlying circumstances it's hard to say much more but generally they are worth fighting. Did you appeal as driver or keeper?
If you appealed as driver the poor location is pretty much irrelevant I’d suggest. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

Thanks Jlc and The Rookie.
i appealed as the keeper of the vehicle. Don't see why that has any relevance to location of offence though ? Thanks Jlc and The Rookie. i appealed as the keeper of the vehicle. Don't see why that has any relevance to location of offence though ? |

If the Driver was known to them, then the Location being vague doesnt help. The driver knows where they were. They can correct this location if they need to, as the invoice containing an error doesnt invalidate the underlying debt
What it DOES do is make it impossible for them to comply with POFA2012 to hold the KEEPER liable, as they must SPECIFY the relevant land. If they name a place with 4 different car parks, that is of courswe not specific. |
