After a long time of no offences I had a funny 3 months which has seen 1 stop and breathalyse resulted in a course
Another mobile camera same speed !! 41 in a 30mph offered another course and did this 2 months later!! different county?? Anyway all I thought was well until I received yet another 60 in a 50 on the average speed camera con. Now this was doubly funny as it was on the way to the second course Now I should just accept and hold my hands up but I ve been told that sending an empty letter with proof of posting is a good way to doge this. Obviously the risk is 6 points and a fine rather than just putting my hands up (unless I get another course) any experience of this its never worked before ahem ahem??? |

Obviously the risk is 6 points and a fine rather than just putting my hands up (unless I get another course) If what you're contemplating is sending an empty envelope and subsequently claiming that you returned the completed s172 nomination, then no, the risk isn't 6 points, it's a prison sentence. You might want to read this thread. -------------------- Regards,

Obviously the risk is 6 points and a fine rather than just putting my hands up (unless I get another course) As mentioned, the risk is a prison sentence for attempting to pervert the course of justice. The police are also known to keep an eye on this forum. Aside from anything else, if I worked in the police's traffic enforcement office and an empty envelope arrived, I'd pre-emotively bag it up as evidence, just in case. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

Sounds like a "Layman's Loopholes" trick, and no doubt something the police are well aware of.

The points are active for totting up purposes for three years from the date of the offence.
I wouldn't think it was very wise to send in a licence with an old address. Bound to complicate things. You could try an explanatory letter along with it. I'm not sure of the validity of a licence that has been replaced by a more recent one. |

Never lie. Contact them and they may make an allowance.
Otherwise the Mag's court sentencing guidelines has allowances for these situations - with a fixed penalty equivalent sentence where administrative issues unconnected with the offence itself. -------------------- RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver
PoFA=Protection of Freedoms Act, SAC=Safety Awareness Course, NIP=Notice of Intended Prosecution, ADR=Alternative Dispute Resolution PPC=Private Parking Company, LBCCC=Letter Before County Court Claim, PII=Personally Identifiable Information, SAR=Subject Access Request Private Parking - remember, they just want your money and will say almost anything to get it. |

hello perhaps i should just say licence is lost an am waiting for new one...they might think im stalling though should have sorted it by now but hey ho It's never a good idea to tell lies or try to pull a fast one in matters such as this (your second idea along those lines). It has a habit of ending badly. If you tell the truth there may be a way that the ticket office can accommodate the problem and help you. At the very worst, if the matter ends up in court the court has the discretion to sentence you at the Fixed Penalty level in these circumstances. |

Apply for a new licence, inform the ticket office that you cannot find your licence and will send it on as soon as you receive it.
They should accommodate you, I know Cambs did when I couldn't find my old paper licence and had to apply for a new one. They put the record on hold for 28 days and told me to just inform them if there were any further delays. |
