Got a PCN a while ago, parked in Ashford town centre, went to put coins in the machine, the machine rejected my coins. I put a note on the windscreen, got a PCN. appealed, appeal rejected. Sent the letter asking for it to go to the parking appeals service, got a reply from Ashford District Council saying that although the signs and line were correct and the machine worked correctly when their CEO made a test purchase, sometimes the machine rejects "soiled coins", and on other machines the motorist has to enter the reg number before the machine will accept money!

"Although the PCN was correctly given, we have cancelled it on this occasion. If you get another PCN in similar circumstances, we may not be able to cancel it".
Thereby admitting their machines can cock-up!

Spend out on 2 stamps and 2 bits of paper, save £70. smile.gif
