Dunno why the council are bothering with the proposed emissions zone, they are making it nigh on impossible to get cars into the centre anyway.

No arguments on that.
Birmingham really got their fingers burnt with poor signage when they first introduced enforcement, they've been on top of bus lane signage since.


The numbers caught reflect more on the drivers who don't look at signs or don't understand them.
My major gripe is that it is another route closed to the normal motorist

Do the signs need to illuminated? At night they would be quite hard to see, and the road markings would not be very visible in the rain!

I am sure that a simple "No Entry (except buses)" would be clearer and get more compliance - then again, that would mean less fines for the council coffers sad.gif

You might have a point about the illumination, I suspect you're right. Not relevant to the cars in the DM video, as it's broad daylight.

A no entry sign would not do as taxis cannot be exempted.
