Hello there,

I am wondering if you can advise me. I got a PCN for contravention 01 in camden on Gloucester Gate. I drove onto the road from Regents Park and there was a controlled zone sign with operation mon-fri 8.30-6.30 so I thought I was fine as it was a Saturday and parked just after the sign. I did look for any other signs but did not see any. However on getting the ticket I checked more and found a time plate which was actually before the CPZ sign if that makes sense so not in the controlled zone but before it. From reading online I have gathered that single yellow lines can have different times. However in this case the time plate was outside the CPZ, on a pole high up by the gate of the park and could be assumed to be valid for the yellow line between the sign and the park as opposed to the bit after the CPZ sign. Worst case it seems like council trying to mislead people by placing big sign with one set of hours and another small sign with another. I have tried to follow the instructions to scan and upload images but it is way too complicated for me so I hope okay I attach the picture of the sign and my car.
thanks

Thanks a lot guys. We have sent off the V5 form today. And yes I can get mail forwarded from previous address.

Thanks for the letter dancing dad. I have tried to find an email address to send it to at the council parking services but this is impossible and they refer to the form to challenge PCN or postal address. I am concerned that sending it by post will mean it arrives later than they send out the NTO. Is this a problem?

Oh and dancing dad when you said earlier 'Each yellow line must have its own local sign, the one across the road relates to its yellow line.' is there somewhere I can refer to this when I challenge the NTO?

Thanks

Guidance but not law AFAIK.
But has been that way since yellow lines and pole signs were invented.
The later invention of Controlled Parking Zones altered this somewhat with the waiting restrictions no longer needing to be on local poles, the zone restrictions applying.
But that did not change the premise that a sign on one yellow line cannot apply to an alternative line.
Or that the border is denoted by the CPZ sign.
And that after that border, yellow lines must have a clearly placed restriction sign on each line or be regulated by the CPZ times.
