It's always recommended to contact the principal in the first instance. Make sure they know that the vehicle was a taxi. Had they called the taxi so you were there at their invitation?
You were doing what taxis do, loading and unloading and not parking. Pe don't know it was a taxi, the cameras can't tell. How about a movement amongst the local drivers refusing to go to the hotel because they get charged £100? The register at reception is probably for guests staying overnight. |

Hit the hotel manager hard and, maybe, if the customer has a regular corporate connection with HI, see if they may help.
In parallel, have a read of the link below, compose your initial appeal and post the draft here for checking. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showth...d.php?t=4816822 It is very important not to miss any of the [Parking Eye imposed] deadlines. You don't want to give them an easy excuse to refuse any appeals. Am I correct in thinking that this may have been a job that took you out of your licensed area and the local drivers may not be sympathetic to your plight? -------------------- Cabbyman 11 PPCs 0

Yes cabbyman, it is a job out of the drivers licensing area.
I have asked the driver to go back and take pictures of the entrance I.E signage. I will do as you say regarding link Thank you |

i contacted holiday inn by email requesting them to instruct parking eye to cancel this PCN.
They were told the driver was picking up customers of holiday inn who were late coming out bye 30 mins from original pre booked time. No reply was received from the hotel. As the registered keeper of the vehicle i called into my local holiday inn (Fareham)to speak to the assistant manager who was quite understanding and took vehicle details as well as the registered keepers details which was written on a parking eye document. Later in the day the assistant manager rang the taxi office and said that they spoke to the Portsmouth hotel and they didn't want to do anything , therefor i appealed to parking eye stating that the taxi was waiting for customers, giving guest details, and lateness of them coming out. Last week i received a reply from my appeal to parking eye that this notice as been cancelled and no money is due. Thanks everyone who replied to me. |

Great news, blumon. I wonder if Holiday Inn are slowly getting the message about this scam? There's one just up the road from me which appears to have been 'sold' the 'service' despite having no requirement for parking control whatsoever, IMHO. It's well away from anywhere else and the only people using the car park will be HI guests!
