Hello, I'm brand new to the forum and finding the site a little tricky to navigate so please point me in the right direction if this has already been posted somewhere on here.
I'm trying to work out if I have a leg to stand on in challenging a Council PCN for being illegally parked. Basically I parked on-road, in a parking bay, on a street with NO parking restrictions in Waltham Forest on 15.11.20. Although we normally park there with no problems, I did scan the area for any changes and saw no signs to the contrary. My partner returned to the car a week later on 22.11.20, only to find that it had been towed away, as there had been a parking bay suspension due to local construction during this 7 day period and we were slapped with a £265 PCN charge and removal fee. Apparently they put up signs and flyered the car on 17.11.20 giving 3-4 days notice of the suspension to go enforce at 8am on the 21.11.20. I have to admit this was almost a month ago and I have dreaded this process so much that I've procrastinated till now with a few days to go! So my question is - what is the legal period of notice that a council has to give to suspend parking and is this PCN worth challenging? Many thanks in advance.
