I'm trying to find some information regarding the above. If a 44 ton vehicle delivers in Carlisle road NW9, can they then turn right onto Stag lane and follow it round back to the A5?
GSV The signs suggest that exiting this way is possible. However a driver was recently approached by a council employee in a CCTV car and told that he was breaking the law by doing this. I looked on Brent website and found this: Brent map which suggests that the whole road is subject to a weight limit. however all the side roads off Stag lane have weight limit signs which wouldnt be needed if you were already in the limit? Turning round in Carlisle road is not really an option. Any help appreciated. |

Looking at the signs, I would say yes you can make the turn cant find the location on the map Top middle of the Brent map. got it. . even if the map is accurate and in accord with the TMO As it is signed you can turn right but not left. There are advance warning signs on Carlisle Rd. I would suggest your driver turns in one of the loading areas, and risks someone moaning a bit or risks a PCN that IMO you could fight but would likely need to go to adjudication so hassle anyway This post has been edited by PASTMYBEST: Wed, 11 Apr 2018 - 14:46 -------------------- All advice is given freely. Stupid Brent. even if the map is accurate and in accord with the TMO then you would require access so would be exempt as per the signs. As it is signed you can turn right but not left. That seems sensible I agree, the map is rubbish. Any idea where I can view the TMO? |

Was a PCN or warning in writing sent to the O/P's friend?

The signs on the GSV leave a turn right as the only option if you're over 7.5

After further investigation it appears that the driver was issued a FPN, however this wasn't reported to the company. So it appears the signs are at odds with the enforcement.

That would suggest police involvement. If a council CEo would be a PCN. Signage should make it an easy win with a PCN, and FPN may need to go to court but signage should win there as well. |

Small update: I've emailed Brent requesting the TMO. Having still not received it I emailed again. I am getting responses, just not the TMO 'yet'.

We need to see the original PCN or any reference to a PCN or any notice from the Police or authority before we can work out what to advise you as there are different routes to go by depending on whether its a LA PCN or a Police ticket.

That's short and sweet and would seem to include the whole of Stag Lane. Which is reflected in signage at each end of Stag Lane but not at junction with Carlisle. While signs at that junction very much indicate that it is okay for a heavy to turn right. I simply do not see how any authority, police or council could enforce this against the signs in place. |

Sadly the people involved are no longer with the company, and they dealt with it themselves. The only information is it was a CCTV car? The issue is that vehicles still need to access premises on Carlisle road, and then exit. If turning around is not an option should artics reverse in off the A5? The TMO and the map support the existence of the weight limit, but the signage clearly doesn't. |

I'd have thought that the provision in the TMO for loading/unloading would cover you for the entire area, once in you can exit in the most convenient manner and if turning a large vehicle around would be unreasonably difficult then the exclusion applies.

Only in restricted streets, TMO is clear on that. |
