52M Hartington Road J/W Chiswick Quay, 52M PCN Options

Hi Folks,

Hope you're well and thanks for letting me join your forum.

I have just received a PCN from Hounslow Council in relation to a 52M: failing to comply with a prohibition on certain types of vehicles (motor vehicles). It is in relation to the below:

I was on my way back from Richmond Park and Google Maps took me down this road and I literally had absolutely no idea of the restrictions because I have never heard of restrictions being placed on a public road before... The alleged contravention occurred at 17:16 on a Saturday in late-March.

If I had genuinely done something wrong, I would hold my hands up. But, I feel a real sense of injustice and any help/advice on the appeal would be appreciated.

Hi Members,
Got PCN for the same road. I don't live in the area and hardly aware of any restrictions/plannings going on there. The signage was not enough to alert/warn anyone to not to drive on that road. Attached is the image, I'll request the video also and will post.

I'm in the same boat as 4000+ folks. First time I drove across this road via Google maps, and clearly missed the sign. We already have all these congestion zones in central London (fair enough), and now this? If anything first contravention should be a warning, so next time I know not to drive that way. But no just take my money.

Was that just a rant or do you want advice?

I attach a photo of the signage in place when crossing Chiswick Bridge travelling north on the A316 before the left turn into Hartington Road.
Surely the sign should show a red line through the image of the motorcycle and car, therefore saying: "NO left turn, Except Permit Holders". The signs currently in place make no sense. Is this not a good reason for appeal?

No, you're meant to have read the Highway Code where it clearly explains what that sign means. And you haven't attached anything. If you want help, start your own thread.
