Hi guys,

Registered keeper received a letter as car had allegedly been left in a car park for 6 hours 8 minutes when maximum time allowed is 4 hours.

Letter sent out from Highview parking issuing a fine of £100, reduced payment of £60 if paid within a certain amount of time. 2nd letter advised fine of £100 now stands.

Checked here:
http://www.parkingappeals.info/companydata...ew_Parking.html

and it says they've never taken anyone to court.

Ignore?

Cheers.

No, we prefer to play the game of seeing how quickly you can get HV to cancel if you point out they are not using keeper liability afforded by the Protection of Freedoms Act.

I think the record is around 2 hours.

RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver
PoFA=Protection of Freedoms Act, SAC=Safety Awareness Course, NIP=Notice of Intended Prosecution, ADR=Alternative Dispute Resolution
PPC=Private Parking Company, LBCCC=Letter Before County Court Claim, PII=Personally Identifiable Information

Private Parking - remember, they just want your money and will say almost anything to get it.

Read here.

HV do not use the Protection of Freedoms Act so can only pursue the driver. They've written to the registered keeper...

Look at recent threads for some wording should you need, post here first.
