As has already been pointed out, to all intents and purposes driving lights do not exist on the majority of vehicles in the UK The ones that do, HAVE to come on when full beam is on, and off when your normal beam is on. Any other variation is a Fog Light (as per typical saxo boy racer) It's the amount of light being emitted from the front of a vehicle as well which can dazzle, and basically your sterotypical chavmobile will only have fog lights. Even if it does have driving lights, as per the above, they dont work when on sidelights...nor on normal driving lights....... |

In a time where most police forces refuse to release pictures of the most scummy scrotes imaginable due to "Uman Rights" that a council can be allowed to do it stinks. Fook me, we are heading for a Stalinist State faster than I thought. |

Of no suprise to many on this forum, but I have to agree with V70-- I would'nt get out of my car & get cold for anything under 45MPH--or under 90 mph in a national restriction. No surprise here however this is the "police" in general reaping what they have sown. We all (well most of us ) appreciate fully that Camera Partnerships have nothing to do with the "on the beat bobby" or traffic cops. However I'm afraid the head sheds have given you the problem which has seen a marked change of opinion from the generally law abiding middle classes who have been massively criminalised for such stunning offences as 79mph on a motorway and suffer in my eyes a penalty that is uncomparable with the sort of sentences that burglars get. Thats the problem you face. How do the police build themselves up from the camera farce - it's gonna be a very difficult job to regain the respect that you used to enjoy from the majority of the public, coupled with what people clearly percieve as a them & us attitude such as Jack Straws driver, the Lord who got off, the speeding chinese delivery driver and more than just that one as well then it's not hard to see why most people think you are taking the p1ss is it? or is it just me? |

I did not reply earlier as I could not find the post, funny how it got moved to the flame pit as soon as someone voices concern over a programme that does not go with the flow of the forum. I sthat not to scare off any potential 'paid up' members from seeing it until they have wasted there money? Why has the title been changed? I did not start this thread Insider clearly did when he split the post, why make it look like I started it and then have the cheek to change the name? Is it because insider is always right? Oh forgive me, but when a perfectly normal topic gets hijacked and starts turning away from the original purpose of the thread then I will split it, as I did here. Rants always end up in the Flame Pit, that's what it's here for and by popular demand. I had to change the title, and I always have lots of "cheek" in reserve. In fact the title thread was more of a sarcastic comment, but actually re-reading it all I appreciate that V70 didnt "start the rants" but his comments were the basis for the later rants I've removed your name from the title V70 - Just to show i'm not always right.... Oh and why we are in the flame pit, Zapta you talk a load of crap, I won't elabrate on it as you will not believe me, but why not ask insider, as he is always right, to explain to you about s.3 and the use of force and home office approved techniques and how hard drunken women are to control. Well I've explained the rest, but god knows where the comments about the woman being "beaten" by that nasty policeman came about Just to tidy that off the cuff comment from V70 up, I suspect she's from the "sink" side of town, and either way - she damaged a car and committed a criminal offence - tough sh*t she got what was deserved and we all know the real reason a stink has been made of it. |

Well what more can I say Opposing views are welcome, just not when they are like your posts mate. Just look at how long Monster was a member for, and ALL of his posts were welcome, and he didn't always agree by a long way. We respected his views, reasons and posts. Yours above are foul mannered rants at anyone who doesn't agree with you... BD has pointed out a number of times polite well reasoned responses to your posts, everytime you come back with comments about his "balls" and argue the toss about his veracity. You aren't getting banned unless you carry on, but of course, you know where the door is. Carry on in the same vein of being rude, argumentative and an arrogant troll then yes you will be going regardless. Christ, it's like having the "Speedfinder General" back on the board - It's not you reincarnated is it Steve |

Righto then, Xantia, take a chill pill and BD doesn't warrant the same treatment you got purely down to the fact that he clearly meant supporting the device in those circumstances is corruption. You on the other hand ignored numerous warnings and yes I banned you for two weeks, note you are back - I could have fully banned you, but hey I'm not prescriptive and opposing views are welcome. Trolls however are not. However, I find your posts in here rude, argumentative, disruptive and uncalled for (particularly to BD) , hence the split to the Flame Pit. You have no right to demand anything, I've seen the evidence from Elvington myself. Blackdouglas is working to have the tape released and he doesn't need to explain anything about the cases, timings or reasons why or why not to yourself nor any others who are wanting that information to mount their official ACPO led discreditation offensive. It will appear when it appears. If you are so interested, V70, Smurfpower or Xantia take Blackdouglas up on his offer he has big cojones, he's already made more than enough effort, and you just need to take up the offers. As for your side, you can bitch, moan and whine all you want, feel free to insist via Trevor Hall of ACPO fame that the Home Office release all of their information and test results. Should you carry on in your typical manner shown here - you know my answer already, and that goes for the other members who want to rant, rave , insult and throw their weight and attitude about. |

The claimed "lifetime" of the CFL bulbs doesn't go anywhere near the claims made by the manufacturers. I know lots offer warranties but not many claim on that... And when you do, with the same 1 bulb OSRAM eventually refuse to change it stating it was getting "misused" Never mind, In went a TFL In the new house they fitted Non-Integrated CFL's (ballast seperate to the lamp) and so far we've had 3 ballasts go "Crack" emit a huge spark and die... Strangely enough in the bathroom's and utility room... We've put it down to the multiple turn on/ turn off's which CFL don't like - needless to say they've been swapped for TFL's It's sooo simple to ban CFL's... What will cause problems is that security lighting won't work with CFL's or numerous other applications. |

It shows a lack of maturity and judgement, both of which are required to be a proficient police officer. Are you saying that the requirments to be a proficient police officer are both a lack of maturity, and a lack of judgement? Stop twisting my words Mr. Q |

As a sensible answer (and no doubt what you are really looking for) You have absolutely no chance of joining the police with a recent caution (read pleaded guilty to the offence) for a firearms related offence. It shows a lack of maturity and judgement, both of which are required to be a proficient police officer. |

QUOTE (mudmover) I think you would also need to take care on 2 wheels. As I mentioned above each gantry has 2 cameras, one facing to read front plates one turned 180 degrees to read rear plates. yes I had noticed that on my previous daily commute, however the rearwards facing cameras have been used when a contraflow has been added (cameras go up before the contraflow is set up) at a later date. Since SPECS is only TA'd for rearwards enforcement it would be 'interesting' to see how continuity of evidence could be obtained <Cough> SPECS Type Approved for FORWARDS FACING only The reason for the "rearwards facing cameras" is not as the scum from Sc |

QUOTE Under Cllr Parnaby's plan, letters would go to drivers caught driving between the existing speed limit and up to 10 per cent over, plus four miles an hour, for a first offence. Anything faster would incur an immediate fine. Not quite, an extension of ACPO's policy, but with sending out letters for 10% +4mph whereas normally 10%+2 would be "ignored" Basically get caught in a 40mph zone..eg 40 - 48mph warning letter It'll never catch on, it's "proposed" and there is far too much cash involved. |

Why would one wish to pay £12.99 when the same is available here for nowt. Well what you are missing DW190 is that what you do is come on here, "borrow" all of the information on here, then charge people for the <cough> privilege and then even have the gall to come on here and try to advertise your own website like Buildmonkey did but acting "dumb" like he'd just found it.... Not hard to work out by finding out who registered the domain is it That really gets on my nerves. |
