Hi,
I had a NIP through in the post. I have logged in to the link attached to it for the photos and a copy of the calibration certificate. My question relates to the calibration certificate. The government guidelines on calibration requirements for speeding cameras states that any certificate must have the engineers name on it who calibrated it - https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/go...UNIPARSL700.pdf My certificate simply says "Calibrated by: Name test Engineer" on it. (screengrab attached) Do you think this invalidates the certificate and therefore the fine? Thanks in advance guys. |

Don't forget to respond to the request for driver's details within the 28 days allowed or you commit an offence which carries six points. This is regardless of any issues you have with the calibration certificate (which, as you describe, will not be of any help to you).

Do you think this invalidates the certificate and therefore the fine? Hell no. -------------------- Moderator

As
1/ No valid calibration certificate is required for them to be able to convict you And 2/ mere government guidelines aren’t the law anyway then No. I suspect they could evidence, if required, who calibrated it, but it’s anonymised for public consumption for what should be obvious reasons. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

And even if they couldn't, it wouldn't change the outcome anyway. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php
