Oops!

Her election slogan was 'Make Notts safe' as well as on her official PCC website, Henry listed ensuring an “effective and efficient” police response to speeding as one of her priorities.
Oopsy again!

Appears she'll be trying to defend two of the cases as 'emergencies' (aka Duress of circumstances), given three other offences I'm not sure that sounds credible, 'fake' defences (aka excuses) also tend to but a bench in a less accommodating mood IMO on 'exceptional hardship' pleas. Not sure if I were in her shoes I'd have chosen that tactic.

Given her pledge on speeding, social media has not been overly kind to her...

I think all PCCs are a waste of money anyway.

Like many things they are a good concept but the implementation doesn't work.

I'm not sure how? Their only real power is to set the policing budget, and they get a 70k+ salary for that one function. Other than that they can't really do anything useful because of the operational independence of the police, which means that the PCC can set out a wishy-washy crime plan that the CC can then follow or ignore as much as he or she likes.

Well that’s one of the bits that doesn’t work! While I’m cautious about giving them too much power, they need a bit more clout (and less money, they don’t need to be paid that much and it actually encourages the type of candidate you DON’T want!).
