I have been taking on Nottingham City Council about there PCN tickets and all paper work concerning NTK and all other PCN correspondence regarding it having a police badge on all paperwork, Is this even legal?

I have done FOI requests to Council and Police and although they say permission was granted to use the police badge on PCN there is not one shred of evidence to say when or who by! The council are saying permission to use police badge on PCN was obtained in 2011/2002 in a meeting but there is no record of any permission.

Today the police have said via FOI pretty much what council said, They actually share the same building The police FOI took a staggering 92 days to get info that there was no permission given to the council, the police kept stalling me although I already knew no permission had officially been granted as the council were quicker to inform me.

The council and police did everything they could to slow down me getting the info that no permission was ever obtained.

The police logo has been used on all Nottingham City Council PCN for the last 6 years! The council have recently informed me that they will soon be ceasing to use police badge on all PCN's.

My point is many people would have paid thinking that the police would be involved when they were receiving a PCN with a police badge on it, I believe the council used this tactic to get people to pay and only now many months after my constant not letting it drop I have been on to them for last 5 months! Please share your thoughts. I can provide photos of all paperwork and FOI links to show the cover up and BS they are spouting

I seem to remember a thread regarding Nottingham where the police logo etc had been removed from the PCN, so maybe you've been successful.

Recent PCNs from Nottingham do not appear to have the Police logo so they may have altered their tack.
I said, at the time of the Shakespeare Street case, that this was deliberate misrepresentation (the Police are not involved in civil enforcement) and the only intention was to press people into paying because they would mistakenly assume that penalty points would be given.
Probably have to take an actual case to the LA Ombudsman to determine maldministration or not.

When I questioned Nottingham council about the Traffic Tribunal saying they have commented on the use of police logo before the head of council parking said they were not aware of any previous warnings or recommendations, Yet the link you provide shows clearly 2016 they were told.

In June they said they had about three months worth of tickets left with police logo on and after that they would change, I believe this was said due to my my pursuit of them and my FOI requests I made, I kept insisting the police logo made it look like people had recieved a ticket from the police exactly as my son did! They have had this police logo on ticket for at least 6 years.

Absolutely nothing positive can ever be said about Nottingham City Council. They are the most ruthless, venal, and rapacious council in the UK. Their offiicials are absolutely shameless in their pursuit of the last penny from the motorist. Immersion in boiling oil would be too mild a punishment !!

All Nottingham PCNs are illegal anyway as they include a surcharge for telephone payments smile.gif
