Hi all, First time on this forum. I received a PCN from Essex County Council for parking on Forest Road. The thing is, there were no lines, no signs, and nothing on the lampposts in either direction on the side of the road I was parked on. I appealed online and provided photos taken at the time showing this, expecting it to be quashed, but they came back with the attached letter. This to me is ridiculous for many reasons. Street furniture? What exactly do they mean by that?! Advertisement in local press - not everyone reads local press and we only moved to the area in December 2017 anyway Hand delivered to effected properties - this is great, but I'm not one of the properties so would not have received this! They say no road markings are required, but surely signs in the immediate area should be required? The entrance signs they refer to are about 50 to 100 metres away as it's a very long road. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as we cannot afford to pay this and the deadline is looming. Thank you in advance This post has been edited by dandybuster: Thu, 21 Feb 2019 - 05:34 |

Colchester?
I would have expected traffic signs for a controlled parking area--a permit zone. They are being disingenuous if they say the Permit Holder Only sign is the sole means of control. Ask them for the traffic order and take a look at the approach roads for traffic signs. Post up the PCN (without VRM and PCN number) it'll be from NEPP probably. It's not letting me add images (I've checked and they fit the criteria, under the size limit etc) either on my original post or even as a reply. Not sure what's going on here. In answer to the above question, it was in Loughton, issues by the NEPP in Colchester.
