This will end well...
A FOTLer has told a court that the name on his driving licence is but a legal fiction. -------------------- Moderator

I thought this might be a new tactic:
I am not a legal fiction but am a waffle! Makes as much sense as the rest of their opinions. -------------------- If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

A Manx FOTLer at that! He'll probably be represented in court by a talking mongoose. -------------------- Sometimes I use big words I don't understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

I’m sure he will claim he was travelling and not driving..... That’s one of the American arguments isn’t it? That licenses only apply because of interstate commerce or something. -------------------- Moderator

Indeed, but FoTL types seem to be able to jump theories from one jurisdiction to another at will, after all if your core argument isn't based in facts why let facts get in the way of any other part of it. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

They love the travelling not driving argument. Get a load of Dave here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GibHWwxXWU0 + 3 more episodes. This guy is into every crackpot theory, flat earth, drinking urine and an attempt at being a breatharian. To spare you watching all of it, he's de-registered his car, sent his licence back to the DVLA, removed the number plates & replaced them with his 'insignia' & cancelled the insurance. Whilst Waffles for half an hour. With no plates, Dave is rather put out when they get the vehicle details from the VIN number. Senior plod says get out or we'll get you out with force ("I don't want to it's a lovely motor") Dave invoices them £100k to get out of the car. Plod has to prise the keys from his grip with the line "Just give me the bloody key" |

It’s one of the rare instances where I’d like to be a prosecutor.

It’s one of the rare instances where I’d like to be a prosecutor. Or better still a magistrate. Do they still burn at the stake in the IOM? You're deported to a place called Chicken Rock, where you have to live hand to mouth under arduous hard labour conditions, a bit like in Papillon. The IOM Govt were forced to introduce this as an alternative to the barbaric act of 'birching'. -------------------- Sometimes I use big words I don't understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
