This will end well...

A FOTLer has told a court that the name on his driving licence is but a legal fiction.

I thought this might be a new tactic:

I am not a legal fiction but am a waffle!

Makes as much sense as the rest of their opinions.

Ice cream would be nicer on a waffle?

A Manx FOTLer at that! He'll probably be represented in court by a talking mongoose.

I’m waiting for the explosion of outrage when he cites Magna Carta only to be told it doesn’t apply to the Isle of Man.

That’s one of the American arguments isn’t it? That licenses only apply because of interstate commerce or something.

For all those Magna Carta types...

Indeed, but FoTL types seem to be able to jump theories from one jurisdiction to another at will, after all if your core argument isn't based in facts why let facts get in the way of any other part of it.

They love the travelling not driving argument. Get a load of Dave here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GibHWwxXWU0 + 3 more episodes.

This guy is into every crackpot theory, flat earth, drinking urine and an attempt at being a breatharian.

To spare you watching all of it, he's de-registered his car, sent his licence back to the DVLA, removed the number plates & replaced them with his 'insignia' & cancelled the insurance.
Whilst driving travelling on the motorway he gets pulled & the fun begins. It goes like this:

Waffles for half an hour.
With no plates, Dave is rather put out when they get the vehicle details from the VIN number.
Senior plod says get out or we'll get you out with force ("I don't want to it's a lovely motor")
Dave invoices them £100k to get out of the car.
Plod has to prise the keys from his grip with the line "Just give me the bloody key"

So, skipping ahead to the "what eventually happened" video:
  • His car was seized (no insurance)
  • He was arrested, and tried and failed to prevent his fingerprints being taken
  • After his first court appearance he declined to attend as they wouldn't prove to his satisfaction that it was a real court
  • He subsequently got a midnight knock at the door and was arrested again
  • Got remanded in custody for 6 days pending the next hearing
  • Prosecuted for no insurance and obstructing a police officer
  • From his comments in the video it sounds like he somehow managed to get a prison sentence out of this
  • He hasn't got his car back despite his devastating arguments that under the Bill of Rights 1688 that they can't keep it without a conviction
  • He hasn't got his £20,000 fee for getting out of his car, either, despite his contract with the police officer smile.gif

But he hasn't lost, because "this is a process". Freeman WINNING! biggrin.gif

What a knob.gif

Fredd

It’s one of the rare instances where I’d like to be a prosecutor.

Or better still a magistrate. Do they still burn at the stake in the IOM?

You're deported to a place called Chicken Rock, where you have to live hand to mouth under arduous hard labour conditions, a bit like in Papillon.

The IOM Govt were forced to introduce this as an alternative to the barbaric act of 'birching'.
