Hi Everyone
This is my first time posting so bare with me if i break any site rules . My wife, while driving my car, was given a CCTV PCN for offence 38L - Failing to comply with keep left sign in a London Borough. The penalty charge is £130(reduced to £65 if paid within 28 days) which think is extremely excessive. What are the angles for fighting this, as i don't believe there was adequate signage of CCTV usage. There is a single CCTV sign on the lamp post from where the image was taken, which faces the road, not facing on coming traffic, thus making it hard to see. Any there any other angles i could genuinely use to fight this PCN? Thanks in advance KingSingh |

Let's see the PCN. Take pics of it on https://imgbb.com or such like as space on forum is limited.
CCTV signs are there by guidance to show that CCTV is operating in an area - lack of one at an exact spot does not mean you can get away with disobeying a mandatory sign. This post has been edited by stamfordman: Sat, 21 Nov 2020 - 13:18 |

Pay the discount you will not win this, It is however possible that the council will mess up and lose it

Oh dear - I presume wife was overtaking a traffic queue. Really this is an appalling and potentially dangerous piece of driving and you are lucky to just get a non-criminalised penalty.

Hi
I totally agree. I lambasted her for this and the potential consequences, had somebody been crossing the road. Thank you |

When most people come here looking for help with a 38L, it's in an empty, quiet side street at 11PM. That's a "no harm done" scenario, but most of them still end up paying because the contravention has occurred.
That's skipping past a big queue of traffic on the wrong side of the road in the middle of the day, crossing broken hatched lines. That's definitely a "pay while you still have the discount" case. If the police had seen her, there probably would have been points involved. |

If any of those cars had a dashcam, there may still be points involved. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php
