Please forgive me if this has already been asked I am a new memeber, can I ask for some advice regarding a RTA i was in with 2 passengers in my car, only one of the passengers had severe injuries which came to light several hours later and was admitted to hospital, 3 weeks after the collision i recieved a phone call from the police to say they will be visiting me in the new year to interview me due to the nature of my pasengers injuries, my insurance comoany have informed me i am to blame for the colision and my car is a right off, can I ask if I need to contact a solicitor prior to my police interview at home and are the police going to be looking at charging me with dangerous driving, many thanks for all your advice.
Also since contacting a solicitor here in Scotland i have been advised as the accident happened over the border i would need to speak with a Solicitor from England, can anyone please advise, many thanks.

**** UPDATE**
I atteneded Berwick police station yesterday with my solicitor (whom I highly recommend) we did have a bit of a wait on the road traffic officers coming from Newcastle to interview me however I think they must of been the friendliest police officers I have ever met, constantly telling me not to worry and asking if I was ok. I was interviewed under caution my solicitor before hand had been given a brief of what they had, my solicitor then sat with me for a good 20mins telling what charges they could use also the likely outcome and advising me on what to say and not to say which in reality throughout the interview I wasn't asked any particularly hard or blame culture questions, the interview lasted 20mins my lawyer was then asked to pop outsie the room with one of the officers and upon my solicitors return informed me it was good news, if I accepted that I misjudged the entrance into the road and that it was a lapse of concentration all I would have to do is attend a drivers course which I ecstatically accepetd. Therefore I do not have any points or fine and no need to attend court. Finally can I ask what I inform my insurance company of as to the outcome, many thanks and grattitude for all the advice.

Some insurers (Admiral group mostly, but that’s a lot of brands) require courses to be disclosed, others do not, if asked (or its in your policy to tell them) then you have to fess up, if you’re not, you don’t.
