Was already crossed over the line when it was green at a red light camera junction, traffic started building up due to a lorry unloading straight ahead way I was travelling was easy past the line in the middle of the junction with other cars once the traffic started to move the light was now red but continued to go straight ahead is this okay to do so??

From your account, yes it was OK as long as it was safe to continue.

The red light only prohibits you from crossing the stop line. One you're past the stop line, the colour of the light is largely irrelevant. Of course, it must be safe to proceed before you move off but that is true whether it's a traffic light junction or not.

Try telling that to the driver of the artic I saw yesterday morning that had fully crossed the stop line to turn right, but the light had subsequently gone red. He just sat there completely blocking any traffic coming out of the side road. Good job it was quiet.

Perfectly reasonable behaviour, if he wasn't absolutely sure that the entirety of his trailer had already crossed the line. Safety first!

Agreed, pretty hard in an artic to know if the rear of the trailer has cleared the stop line.

Indeed, it's stick liability after all.
