Hi there,

Basically i need help on fighting back to a company named ZZPS who are debt collectors which have taken control of my original fine from my college (Chichester college).
They are trying to fine me £150 which i just cannot pay as i am a student.

I ignored the original fines from my college as i knew it was private land and there wasn't much they could do, but now they have taken it to ZZPS should i be worried?

i have been threatened with this quote "a recent supreme court ruling (ParkingEye -v- Beavis) has confirmed that parking charge issued on private land is enforceable and the parking charge does not breach the unfair terms in consumer contract regulations".

What can i do to stop these guys from taking this any further and trying get a larger sum of money out of me?!?

Thanks

WHat other Leters Before Action have you found to compare it to?
Have you read the pre action protocol for debt claims, or threads that refer to it, so you know?

I wont jsut go through itfor you
You try first.

Okay.
So i doesn't mention:
"Final Letter before commencing legal action"

It does mention:
"Failure to make payment in full or contact us to discuss repayment of this debt may result in us recommending to our client that we pass this matter over to our litigation department"

So not an LBA?

Here's a clue - hope you're not studying English! biggrin.gif

No, it's not, it's just a silly debt collector letter - relax for now.

An LBA states that court action WILL comment.
Not May.

Okay so, an LBA letter quotes "Final letter before commencing legal action."

The letter QDR have sent me does not include anything like that or similar.

The letter i have received mentions "Failure to make payment in full or contact us to discuss repayment of this debt result in us recommending our client that we pass this matter over to our litigation department. This may mean they look to obtain a county court judgement."

Not an LBA.

They have also mention "We require you to make payment in full over the next 14 days."

Edited: thought other post didn't upload thanks for answers.

Thanks for answers! Not studying English, Electrical science.

"Relax for now"

Do you know what they are likely to do in the future when i don't pay the absurd £162 in the next 14 days?

Probably more debt collector letters

Have a look at other threads so you can see how this works.

I have received letters from zzps before and you just file them away. Just be sure as others have said that they haven't invoked Pofa or are pofa compliant.

If they're not you haven't got anything to really worry about as they cannot pursue the keeper and as long as you don't tell them who the driver was they can't do anything, legally.
