Hi guys, I was on an A class road, come over the brow of a hill to find a mobile camera van at the other side. Slammed the breaks on but I was defo doing 59mph on the speedo, around 57mph on the sat nav. Do these vans take an instant reading or is is based over 20 meters or something similar?
Thanks

P.s I was driving a Vivaro.

It takes about 1/3rd of a second to record your speed. 14 days wait for the registered keeper to find out if you’ve been caught.

Indeed. 60mph is around 27m/s so the vehicle will have travelled around 9 metres or so. (Or more if going faster wink.gif)

...but essentially an instant measurement as opposed to other systems that average over a far longer distance.

The company should name you, but you'll have to wait and see what arrives in the next few months.

If you receive a NIP/S.172 in your name, then name yourself since you know you were driving.

That is the company's issue but if you do receive a NIP/s172 then you'll have to respond.

The company may be remiss in not keeping adequate records.
