So, going along the A44 in Oxford; Woodstock Road near the Peartree Park & Ride place. Road is a 30, I was doing well over. Went through the light but it was green, had no flash at all. It was a grey box, tall. No road markings to indicate a speed camera, and no road signs before to say there was a speed camera/traffic light camera. This happened yesterday (Sunday - 18/11/18)
Here is the road: As you can see, no road markings, the camera is a fair bit behind the line. After the light there is another camera, pictured here. I've been told this is an ANPR camera after the lights. My question is.. have I been caught? Like I mentioned, no flash, no road markings, no signs or anything. It's definitely a RLC but doesn't appear to have been configured for 'speed on green'.
They definitely flash if caught. Only a 14 day wait to the RK for sure... -------------------- RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver

Yeah I'm the RK. I didn't see a flash at all, nor did the mrs. How can you tell if it's configured for 'speed on green' & how common are these type of cameras to be configured as 'speed on green'.
Is it the lines on the road? |

According to PocketGPSWorld, usually reliable, it's red light only

Is it the lines on the road? Generally, yes - the corroboration marks are actually quite small for most (only about 20cm in length). Here's an example. -------------------- RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver

......That's what I like to hear! Going for 99% safe then. Not sure how there could possibly be a way it caught me. But you never know! I'm confident in thinking i'm safe, would you agree? Probably safe from the camera. Not so sure about safe when going through lights at well over the speed limit |

If I had gone through on red well over the speed limit, I don't think I'd be posting. I'd be locked away from mankind! |

You’ll probably find it less stressful not to drive past any sort of enforcement device well over the speed limit.

Didn't know the area at all. Lesson learnt from this as I was so stressed! Definitely an eye opener for me. Anecdotally, at least, many people caught speeding often cite the 'didn't know the area'. I find that bizarre as I tend to take more notice of signs in an unfamiliar area. -------------------- RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver

Doubtful I've been caught. First time I've ever drove to that area. Only had my licence a year and a half. So not very familiar with any roads apart from my home town, which isn't very big.

Your just giving more reasons why you should be extra careful, not less!

Adding an update. This is the 13th working day. Don't want to jinx it, but I think I've got away with it. Still, a lesson to learn. Won't be chancing it ever again.

Final update. It's been over 2 weeks/14 working days and I have yet to get a NIP. Guess I got lucky with this one.

Assuming you are the registered keeper (We get a lot who think they are and aren't) and the address is up to date.....yes.
