Hello. I was driving on Ford Street(A601) just past Friar Gate in Derby. I came across this camera on the left hand side which looks like one of those Average Speed cameras. ( https://www.google.com/maps/@52.9241758,-1....3312!8i6656 ) Waze, my GPS app did not notify me of the camera even when it was indicated on the app. I have track backed worrying I have driven through an average speed zone without knowing. There was not any other average cameras down the road. CREST Derbyshire does not seem to claim this particular camera on their website.

Just wondering if someone knows something I dont...?

Yeah its weird. I have had a deeper look and it doesn't look like an Average Zone but I have a weird feeling that it could be a red light camera but I have never seen anything like it.

also just before the traffic signals, the strange white pole with black sensors of some sort pointing in the same direction.

I've asked the question over on the PocketGPSworld site as I'm puzzled by what it is and have never seen that set of four sensors anywhere else

from the pocketgpsworld forum (thanks to pcaouolte):
It's a Vector SR camera. On the yellow pole is a camera plus a 3D tracking radar module. On the grey pole nearer the traffic lights are four infrared illumination modules. It is capable of recording spot speed (not average) across multiple lanes and can catch traffic travelling in both directions, although in this case it is very unlikely to be able to see the traffic on the other side of the central reservation. It can also be used as a red light camera and in this case the lower most IR illuminator is pointing at the junction, presumably to illuminate the rear of vehicles which have jumped the lights.

Effectively it is a modern version of a redspeed camera, recording speed on green + red light offences.

It is made by Jenoptik, the same people that make the Specs average speed cameras, hence the same batman logo and similar appearance.

I'd always thought the logo looked a bit like the Motorola logo.
