I found this shocking. This seems to be one of those offences that tough penalties doesn't deter, and isn't becoming socially unacceptable like Drink Driving has. -------------------- Diesel, the fuel of the future......

The limit at the end towards Dover - A20? Is a bloody nightmare. Last time I drove it everyone seemed to be ignoring the SPECS - I don't know if they knew something I didn't. I ignored it too but tucked in behind lorries at every camera. I understand the SPECS between Folkestone and Dover only operate when the lower speed limits are in force with Operation Tap. you're overtaking a lot of parked lorries and there may be lorry drivers in the road.Generally I think helmet cams are a waste of time but I make an exception for phones. Commuting through a congested city there are enough people who think they can both check Facebook and occasionally glance up to see what's happening. Unfortunately cyclists - and indeed cycle lanes - are seldom discernible by glance driving, not helped by the local council's obsession about cycle lanes that constantly hop onto the pavement and rejoin the carriageway within a few dozen metres. If I had too much free time and too little to do I would report them, but I highly favour drinking lots of red wine instead. |
