Hi,
I got a flash with a company car last week (23rd Dec). I thought it was a 30mph zone (it previously was), and on my side i was driving most of the speed signs were sprayed over (graffiti). The company does deliveries and their was a delivery on that road, so did not really focus on speed sign at the beginning of the road. Post delivery and on my way to another address it flashed. I assumed it was 30mph as it was not really in a built up residental road. No 20mph was painted onto the road (as many roads are). I have not heard anything yet from the company. I was wondering what my options are if an NIP comes through. Many thanks in advance |

Get photos ASAP!

Went today and tooks pics. One of the signs was fixed, but a couple had sprayed all over still.
Also there was no prior warning of the camera on my side of the road. It will be 14 days on monday, so how long is usually the limiit? @Ocelot, thanks for the link to the case. |

Contact the highways authority responsible for the road (local council in almost all cases) and ask for a copy of the maintenance records for those signs.

Camera warning signs aren't relevant.
The 14 days is only to the registered keeper - likely to be a lease company... -------------------- RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver

It’s 14 days for a NIP to be sent to the registered keeper. In your case that might be the company, or more likely a lease company. There is no time limit after that (apart from 6 months to begin court action), so it could be many weeks before you hear anything. |

Also try to ensure that whoever opens the post stamps it with a date stamp as received on that date. if you do have to mount a 14 days offence you need solid evidence. -------------------- |

I have not seen the V5 as the car is based in London, but registered to the main business in Oxfordshire. They have informed that the vehicle was bought completely outright, hence no lease or 3rd party ownership. In terms of stamping, I assume it would be a company stamp or a date written on the enveloped upon receipt? I guess I just have to sit tight and wait to see if i hear anything. |

While you do not want to appear to disbelieve them, perhaps you could tactfully ask for a photocopy of the V5.
All you need is to ensure that there is evidence of the date the NIP is received, if it arrives at all. Many companies have arrangements to open mail and stamp the contents with the date received. -------------------- |

Thankfully nothing has come of this!
Otherwise I am sure there would have been letters and questions coming by now. |
