Hi,
I took my daughter to the hairdresser. I took her into the salon whilst my other daughter stayed in the car (only few seconds inside) when I came out there were 2 guys standing on the other side of the road, one had a body camera around his chest. I thought nothing of it until I received the PCN through the post. I'm fuming as I didn't see a sign but when I've gone back to check there's a sign on the other side of the rd from where I parked. Any advise much appreciated

Have a read of other threads to get a feeling for the procedures.

Let's see if you can come back and tell us what you are going to do before anyone else posts the solution!!

CPM or PCM ?

Parking Control Management (UK) Ltd specialises in putting up small signs on one side of what will appear to be a public road

Thank you Gan, its CPM & the sign is on the other side of the road to where I had stopped. I literally just took my daughter into the hairdressers, couple of minutes if that!

Cabbyman if I had the answer I wouldn't be on here asking. I've had a look but I'm confused.com

Yes, but while youre on here, have you read any other threads? Used the search box at the top right with the PROPER FULL NAME of the parking company to see if other people have posted?

Hi nosferatu1001 I've been looking since last night but to be honest I'm none the wiser. I'm not sure as to what is the best approach as some posts say to not bother replying back, others say the opposite, some say to reply back stating that I will not be making any payment....

I have attached some photos of the area. There is a sign on the left pavement to where I parked & another half way up a pole which I didn't see. As mentioned before i was a few minutes inside the hairdresser. Am I right in thinking that they have to allow you a period of time to be able to read the signs and then decide if you park or not? Any help and advise very appreciated

Yes under the IPC Code of Practice, which you can Google & read but don't bust a gut over it, nor pore over any appeal wording, because the PCN will NOT be cancelled. This is a private firm and these invoices (rip-off penalties) are how they get their money. No appeal will 'work' as such but we are not telling you to pay.

Write to your MP and Theresa May telling them how this cash cow should not be allowed and the threat of credit-clamping (court/CCJ) is worse than car clamping used to be:

https://bmpa.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/...rite-to-your-MP

It is not a fine, just an unsolicited invoice but some firms do try small claims. UKCPM are not prolific - look at the figures, similarly unlikely as a lottery win:

- BPA firms, we say appeal and then win (mostly) at POPLA stage. This is not a BPA firm so you get no POPLA stage offered.

- IPC firms like this, appeal once (as registered keeper within 21 days of the PCN) then ignore, or ignore from the start because there will be no cancellation.

Then come back here is you actually get a court claim. A 'debt' (even a spurious one) can be pursued for up to six years so tell them if you move house, to make sure you know about any letters, just in case of a late claim that you'd need to defend.

Please don't be tempted to take the view of paying it for a quiet life - people who pay, support and fund the next few PCNs against vulnerable victims. Stop the chain - if no-one paid the whole scam would collapse. Also even a lost hearing at court only costs a defendant about £160 or so, all told (no high costs) and no CCJ as long as you miss no deadlines or papers, so there are no huge repercussions and no effect on credit rating awaiting you.

Npothign there indicates it is a private road. In fact the roadway would be covered under teh RTE until the edge of the highway, which would be the property line. So theyre enforcing somewhere they cannto do so.

Where is this? I could not find it on GSV using "The Meads" or Kamson's Pharmacy or the like. Presumably the OP knows the location referred to by CPM...

It is strange that the landowner would want to prevent people from patronising those businesses.

[The RK's surname remains on the scanned docs.]
