I am wheelchair bound and had to go to the Royal Free hospital yesterday for a very important appointment as I am in need of a transplant. They are currently building the parking lot so at the moment its close to impossible to park there. I had to park further out on the road and as a result was going to be late and possibly miss the appointment. I eventually found a place to park but in my rush I just threw the Blue badge and timer on the dashboard, resulting in it not being displayed properly (see attached photo). Can I dispute this on any ground other than compassion? what are my chances?

Patient Advisory and Liaison Service at the hospital, such predatory tactics are prohibited in NHS hospital car parks by the governments guidance on how they should be operated. Not least in that Blue Badges have no express meaning on private land and they have to make disabled bays available to anyone with a protected characteristic under the equality act whether they have a BB or not.

Camden allow BB parking in resident and shared use bays, as long as it's not in their 'green zone', which South End Road is not.

So you were OK to park there and you must ask politely for discretion - that you thought you'd displayed your badge properly but given the rush (say briefly what the urgent appointment was for) you can see that the badge had slipped down the windscreen, as shown in the CEO's picture.

Enclose a picture of the valid badge.

Camden should cancel this.
