It seems to me that some just want to slate Trump no matter what.

Well why not start at home?

If you need support in court buy a bra,far more useful than many solicitors as you have been told.
If your going guilty which is probably best, then all you have to do is answer that when asked.
After that despite all the talkers above,it's probably best to keep your mouth shut.there is no explaining to do as you admitted it in guilty plea.
If you start running away with your mouth then it could make things worse.just tell them it was a moment of poor judgement anyone happen again that's it simple.

...........Where did I suggest speeding up?

Didn't say you did. But apart from getting out of their way what other options are there?

How does getting "more distance ahead" help if you have to break suddenly because of something other than the vehicle in front?
The need to brake on a motorway (or many roads) is usually due to the vehicle(s) in front. If something appears from the side, just got to deal with it but distance between you and the vehicle in front is always your friend.
In similar way, I try not to get boxed in and will adjust my speed so I have an escape route to the side or both if possible

What has changed since the "old days"?
Being able to hit the 3rd lane and cruise at 90+ without worrying too much about getting points for speeding.
Far too many cameras these days to play that game.

The "other option" is to slow down, as advised by DVSA.

If you can't adjust the gap to suit the speed, adjust the speed to the gap.

DVSA dont know their arse fron their elbow.

Just let them pass.Nearly always is the opportunity. Strange that some people suffer this problem more than others.maybe some ought to look at why they get this problem more frequently.

Sitting on sofa in front room on here, daughter also present watching Teen Mom on MTV icon_puke_r.gif.

Looked up to see on screen said teem mom driving on busy road with two small children in the car, holding a mobile phone whilst texting away, whilst also turning round to look in the back and pull faces at her children, and very occasionally, to glance at the road !!!!!!

I was surprised even if legal there (the US) they showed it here in the uk as it was so obviously stupid and dangerous.

Are you saying that your daughter would mimic things on TV just because it was shown? Proper parenting is the key although it seems some want to shirk that responsibility and blame it on everything and everyone else.

What next ban Action films cos they go round shooting people?

The worlds gone mad!!

"Many many accidents are AVOIDABLE !" Just to remind what i said as some seem to have reading issues as it quickly seemed to become "I don't think 'all' accidents are avoidable by all parties."

As for the slight rear ender you had Gb boy,id say it was very avoidable going on what you say.

Often the difference between a hit and a miss from such an accident is less than a foot, yet you sat and watched it happen according to you.Other drivers would have been in gear with the handbrake off covering the brake so to give brake lights as a warning to others that you were braking or stopped. You wasnt doing that, had you been then you could have moved forward using the space you proudly anounce you had left between you and the car infront, probably leading to no accident at all as after all you say that you wasnt shunted as far as that position.

As for dealer repairs and thinking your getting a better repair, from what ive seen many of their repairs are the worst, parly due to pricework and targets. You would never ever find my car at a manufacturer for repairs unless i had no choice, although i seem to be 'lucky' and never had call to be in that position.

I agree, but im all for loading for SOME none faults. Many many accidents are AVOIDABLE no matter who was to blame legally.

For example,if you go through a light that changes to green and you get side swiped, then yes, someone likely ran a red,but very very easily avoidable. There is to much of this let it happen and point the finger later.

I think pretty much all "accidents" are avoidable... but shouldn't we all have a duty to only claim what is reasonably owed in an attempt to keep everyone's premiums down? As a consumer, we don't feel the benefit of "loading" claims, why should insurer's further line their pockets?!

On the other side of the coin why should the insurers and the rest of us pay just because someone took a green light to mean it was safe to go rather than its true meaning which is you have permission to go and not bothered to check if it was safe to go.

If more insurers stood up to these so and so's, our premiums wouldn't be so high.

True, but then insurers are an integral part of the scam. Everybody down the line (hire car companies, personal injury firms, repair organisations, etc) pays "referral fees" or some other euphemism up the line, and guess who's at the top? Ever wondered why your insurer is so keen to pass you off to a claims management company as soon as they work out you aren't at fault, and so won't cost them any money? Oh, and your insurer will gouge you anyway by loading your premium, even though you weren't at fault.

Of course the people who ultimately pay for all this are the poor suckers customers like you and me.

Then do as above, pass it onto the insurers. They are the ones responsible for paying the bill not you. They cant just pass it on to you.Thats why you have insurance. If they feel the bill is too high its for them to sort not you.

Things have changed alot over the last few years, ways out that were available are not any more.

The easist way forward with this is to plead not guilty to both, and then do a deal agreeing to take the speeding. If you create doubt on the driver, that deal wont be available and you will end up fighting the FTF which has bigger consequences.

Others will fill in the gaps or do a search on deals before court.

I feel that the car will get scrapped within the next five years (its a 2003 Ford Focus with 100k miles) and the plate may not be changed and thus go with the vehicle.

QUOTE (Akram @ Wed, 13 Dec 2017 - 12:05) *
the plate is 415 HAH

I'd be amazed if the current owner hasn't twigged that that plate may be more valuable than the car it's attached to!

Number plate value against car value is the criteria I use for changing my car !!! 😀

Mine ends in TVL ..wonder if Television Licensing would be interested ? :-)

Do people still actually pay for a TV licence? The BBC has seriously lost the plot, and the rest of live tv is just wall to wall adverts with any shite possible stuck inbetween. Why would anyone pay for that smile.gif

I know people are thick nowadays, but i feel sure the owner knows that he has a plate worth a few hundred quid, easily retained at vehicle sale time if need be.

The only way is Dvla,or a very friendly policeman.

It does beat me why DVLA havnt cottoned onto there is lots of money to be made from folk wanting to chase plates or vehicles.A way round data protection could be passing your details to the registered keeper and giving them the option to respond or not direct.

I was once quoted £300 for a PI to get me the registered keeper of a vehicle but i never went through with it,as the bike was likely long gone.

As i can think ,when ever you leave road works or any other temp speed limit there is always a speed limit sign that ends the restriction. As i understand it,in this case there wasnt one at that point.
There are many times i can think of where one road works has ended only to find another shortly down the road.In a perfect world the speed limit would go up between them and back down again at the next roadworks.but that isnt the reality. The reality is they want to cause confusion and line their pockets and it seems that practice is growing.
Again nothing that i know of about that sign says the speed limit has been raised and i would be looking to verify that by another sign indicating national speed limit or similar.

I understand how easy it would be to jump to conclusions from that sign, but it in no way alters the speed limit.

If served correctly the NIP should be with them within 14 days. They then have 28 days to name the driver. Then its up to the police to send out a new NIP to you which i know of no time scale but generally it isnt long.
Then you have 28 days to name the driver.

I didnt get a ticket to park, cos im skint. Why the hell should i be ticketed for that...Ha ha

Lets keep it real!

Im not a lover of some of the sharp practices being used by some of the ppc's but So far im not seeing this case as sharp practice.IF the signs said that a blue badge was to be displayed, then one should have been or other parking space should have been sought until that was possible,IF that was the case.
With all the sympathy in the world, that doesnt change reality.

The choice here seems an easy one,pay a very low priced lesson and move on,or post up the paperwork and see if theres anything to fight with risking more money.

Tip:always check a badge and clock is in place on the dash displayed AFTER the car is locked to prevent a next time.

trouble with this is you have no way of going back and recording the journey with the same senario. That would have been your only hope and see where them signs were and what they said.

Other than that it looks like your taking it,as unfair and as frustrating as it is.
