London Borough of Barnet takes enforcement action against itself, you literally couldn't make it up.

The council obviously must have made a compelling argument in its appeal against itself because it decided not to contest the case, case details here: http://bit.ly/2PhI44I

any news of the fees paid in this case? hardly a good use of tax payers money, especially in a time of cuts and austerity.

Well that is hardly going to break the bank. However that is 1.5 hours care fee for someone who is disabled or elderly.
My suspicion in my dealing with councils is that this sort of wastage of public funds happens constantly.
