I was involved in the "unsigned forms" defence from the early days of speed cameras for some years until the defence was closed once and for all.

I was the solicitor for Peter Gidden in Gidden -v- Chief Constable of Humberside [2009] EWHC 2924 (Admin) The Court in this case held that if the police send an NIP by ordinary post (i.e. not recorded delivery or registered) and it is received after the 14 day time limit, the notice is bad for late service. I sit as a Deputy District Judge (Civil) in various Courts in the Midlands.

I moved to Northampton from Newcastle about 30 years ago and am a very long suffering Newcastle United supporter
