First PCN for a long time.
This time in Camden. In my view the worst of all London Boroughs in which to park your vehicle on the street. Other will no doubt disagree!
Not spotting the poorly marked separation lines, at right angles to the kerb. I stupidly parked in a residents bay which abutted a couple of P&D bays where I should have been!
The location was Serle Street - location 13304.
I paid the fee via Ringo for the P&D - I have the receipt.
I returned to vehicle long before the paid-for period expired. Attendant had just ticketed and taken pic’s. I asked him why the ticket - he replied “you are in a residents bay”.
Doh! Was my initial response.
BUT
When I looked at the ticket later:-
Contravention code: 11, which as I read it means “Parked without payment of the parking charge”
What I believe he should have put was: "code 12 parked in a residents or shared space…"
So decide to contest the ticket.
Proceed to Camden.gov.uk where I find a shiny new website that does not work!
Fortunately I find a link to the old site which takes me to: camden.gov.uk/pcnobjections.
On entering the PCN number and my VRN I get the message “No matching PCN number was found on our system. The reason for the error is due to an invalid VRN. Please check your VRN and try again.
Yes I have checked at least 5 times over!
The same happens when I try and look for the photos taken by the attendant.
I have just checked on the DVLA website and the vehicle IS there
My initial question is: what else should I do other that wait for the NTO? Which I ‘sort of’ do not expect to receive as they cannot get the VRN correct.
Many thanks[/size]

When you say "they cannot get the VRN correct", are you saying the VRM on the PCN doesn't match the VRM of your car?

If you were checking yesterday the PCN may not have been put on their system.

it does seem like the wrong contravention - post the PCN and a google street view.

Put pics on https://imgbb.com or such like.

When I enter the details on the camden.gov.uk/pcnobjections. web page - EXACTLY AS THEY APPEAR ON THE PCN - I get the response.
“No matching PCN number was found on our system. The reason for the error is due to an invalid VRN. Please check your VRN and try again.

Apologies - not sure image links are working 100%. Below should be

Vehicle was parked where silver Merc (I think) is. Its definitely a residents bay, I am not disputing that.

So you have confirmation of payment, Yes? That is what you need to show If you were in a residents bay, good for you bad for them. But the cynic in me wonders if you will never find this PCN but get a postal one in a few days for the correct contravention. Don't lose that one

Camden having difficulty with technology!! whoever would have thought!!

The CEO's photos should show the car in a residents bay so, given that on street payment is not relevant to those bays, the contravention is a nonsense.

If the OP has payment details (for the correct VRM) that would further rebut the Council's case.

As Mike says, the contravention alleged is nonsense. Just make informal reps along the lines of you were parked in a residents' bay, not a pay and display bay, and no payment is required in a residents' bay.

Is that REALLY the best way forward?
Surely, if I cannot access the PCN through the Camden website - I have just tried again and neither the "challenge a PCN" nor the "view your PCN images work"
(I am keeping a timed/dated screen grab each time try challenge and/or to view the images.
Why should I admit to anything?
I have a PCN that says I have not paid for parking - code 11- and I have a receipt from Ringo saying I did. There's only one zone in the street where I parked and that's the same as the one on the Ringo receipt.

That would be my route

You're not admitting to anything. They allege that you were parked in a bay that requires payment. You contest it on the basis that they are mistaken on this point. I would send reps by post, send from a post office counter and keep a free certificate of posting.
