Hi All,
So A driver of a car was a bit of a numpty today and bought car parking in the wrong car park location. Both car parks are managed by RingGo and side by side. When The driver got back to the car It had a PCN on it, The driver immediately thought They could explain the situation and show them the receipt for payment and maybe they would let them off (naive maybe??) but then the driver noticed there was a error on the PCN and that whoever issued the PCN had recorded the registration number with one incorrect letter. Can this work to the drivers advantage in any way? Any advice on what to do? The company who issued the ticket are PPS. Thanks in advance! PPS is a nasty little company
Do you mean that you entered the wrong registration when you paid for the parking ? In my view, the requirement to enter the full registration is an unfair contract term because it has a hidden purpose The last three letters easily identify the vehicle and the requirement has no purpose other than to increase the possibility of an error It exposes the driver to a grossly disproportionate penalty for an error that can easily result from a sticking keypad Are both car parks managed by PPS ? If it's possible to make a wrong carpark mistake, the signs must have been inadequate Don't appeal a windscreen ticket unless it's a lease, hire or company car Wait until you receive a Notice by Keeper by post so that it can be inspected for errors This post has been edited by Redivi: Mon, 19 Aug 2019 - 21:27 |

So The PCN has therefore been issued to a different car other than the car it was placed on I hope that makes sense. Thanks This post has been edited by Newts1987: Tue, 20 Aug 2019 - 13:13 |

Assuming that you mean that this is a windscreen PCN then you basically do nothing. They don't know who the driver was and when they try and chase the RK they will most likely end up in the wrong place! Their stupid error.

Would they not have photographed the reg plate and at some point realised there error and find my details? The driver is all for ignoring the ticket, but the driver wants to be sure if they track me down that there mistake is a reasonable excuse for ignoring the ticket. Premier probably did photograph the car but it's not much help to them
The registration number may belong to a genuine vehicle You can easily check this on the DVLA or even Halfords websites If so it will be some time before Premier discovers the mistake If it doesn't belong to a vehicle, Premier will recheck the pictures and may issue a Notice to Keeper The PCN and the NtK won't match so they won't be able to recover payment fom the registered keeper if they don't know who was driving They will also have to follow the British Parking Association appeal process including an independent appeal to POPLA This will be an easy win Keep the PCN safe Premier has a track record of sending fake documents to POPLA |

They won`t know the driver, so edit your post also and do not give any indication who may have drove the vehicle refer only to "the driver" did this or that.
