Good morning,
This is a strange one... My friend was driving her sisters car on the 15/04/19 and was said to have being doing 62/50 ... Nip was sent to the registered keeper(police won't give give her the dates) it was sent back to the driver as it's a company car...the owner recived it on the 07/06/19(nearly two months later) and then my friend was told she had a speeding ticket.. What is her best course of Action as she's actually quite scared.... Many thanks if anyone can help |

What is her best course of Action as she's actually quite scared.... Post here herself with a coherent version of events -------------------- Andy
Some people think that I make them feel stupid. To be fair, they deserve most of the credit. |

Not making a lot of sense.
Nip ... was sent back to the driver as it's a company car Who sent what "back to the driver"? it's a company car ...the owner recived it on the 07/06/19 The owner would be the company or a lease company. Do you mean your sister? What should/probably happened is - Police send NIP to registered keeper, which is the company or probably a lease company - Lease company/company reply giving details of the person whose company car this is (friend's sister) - Your friend's sister should get an S.172 request of her own directly from the police (not forwarded from the company) asking her to name the driver - Your friend's sister should then return it naming your friend as the driver - Your friend will then get an S.172, asking them if they were the driver All this to-ing and fro-ing can take a while, hence the delay. Is this what has happened? This post has been edited by The Slithy Tove: Mon, 17 Jun 2019 - 09:52 |

said to have being doing 62/50 ... What is her best course of Action as she's actually quite scared.... Why is she scared? 62 in a 50 is very much a low level offence and will see either an awareness course offered (half a day and circa £100) or at worst a fixed penalty (3 points and £100), unless other offences were being committed you've not told us about there really is no need to be scared. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

I'm struggling to understand who has received what from whom
If your friend has received an S172 in her own name, she must provide the details and send it back If she hasn't, she must do nothing If her sister has received an S172 in her own name, she provides your friend's name If she has received the S172 in the company's name, she provides your friend's details and tells the company to deal with it Filling in an S172 form that has been addressed to somebody else has a habit of ending badly |
