Hi to every one and hope everyone keeping safe and well.
I parked in the residential area on single yellow on Sunday the 26th July while I was visiting elderly family member for the first time since covid 19. I have posted a links of both side of pcn, Kindly advise if I have ground to appeal, I used to park on same spot before covid 19 whenever i visited elderly family member back in March. I have added couple of pics I took on the day and also GSV link. https://www.instantstreetview.com/@51.51319...h,-29.55p,1.86z I always received good advise here in the past and hoping the same this time. </a> <a href="https://imgbox.com/avdaYeJe" target="_blank"> </a> [url=https://ibb.co/nL0755b] Thankyou This post has been edited by EssexGB: Mon, 3 Aug 2020 - 18:52 |

There is tactile paving on either side of the road so it looks like a pedestrian crossing to assist disabled people but the whole of the street seems to have kerbs level with the carriageway No signs are needed but it should be clear IMO an adjudicator would most likely find that it is

You should pay the discount - a tactile crossing is a slam dunk contravention although they shouldn't put single yellows there.
Your image links don't work so can't check the PCN. https://www.google.com/maps/@51.5132983,-0....6384!8i8192 This post has been edited by stamfordman: Mon, 3 Aug 2020 - 18:02 |

I have posted a new link in OP at the bottom, if it still doesn't work than I will use imgbb as Stamfordman suggested.

The PCN should have been issued for 28 - Parked in a special enforcement area on part of the carriageway raised to meet the level of a footway, cycle track or verge IMO.

Gents, I reckon the best is to pay within discount period? CP has a point about the code 28, which is different from code 27 in that it concerns a raised carriageway which does seem to be the case here as there looks to be a ramp at the start of the street. I think this may be worth a no-risk challenge. |

Thankyou Stamfordman,
Makes sense @ no risk challenge. Can some one kindly create a draft letter for me so that I can challenge it online as I still have couple of days within discount period. Much appreciated. |

Hi everyone,
Just to update that I have made informal challenge online raising 2 reasons. There shouldn't have been single yellow linea And secondly contravention code 28 instead of 27. I have nothing to lose. Will update here once I received reply |

Once you get the rejection (they will reject) put it up so we can take a look, also restore the PCN and CEO photos which have been taken down.
Also while you're at it, please post a copy of your representation. I would have drafted something for you but it's been a busy few days however IMO they cannot get away with code 27 when blatantly it's a code 28. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

Hi every one,
I received rejection letter yesterday on the 11th. I have uploaded original pcn, GSV link pictures and rejection letter for further advise. Thanx GSV Link https://www.instantstreetview.com/@51.51319...1h,-6.33p,1.86z Rejection Letter I do not have the exact wording of informal challenge I sent since I did it online however it was very brief mentioning only 2 points. 1. Contravention did not occur however if enforcement officer think that it did than it should have been under code 28 not code 27.(description Of both codes) 2. There should have been signs alerting drivers not to park (this reason was silly I know) I was not blocking or even Infront of any house or property as can be seen in pictures which is mentioned in rejection letter. I appreciate feedback whether to go all the way or cough up and pay while discount period is still valid. Thankyou This post has been edited by EssexGB: Sat, 12 Sep 2020 - 09:17 |

Did you say that the carriageway has been raised or did you just say 28 instead of 27. They haven't addressed it anyway.
Codes 27/28 are also not just about blocking entrances. They say unable to cancel. |

I quoted the code 27 description and code 28 description mentioning raised carriage way but it isn't mentioned in rejection letter. They only replied in rejection letter regarding the point 2 about the signs as you said.
